In this commercial, many propaganda techniques are used. First, the commercials jingle repeats "Napa know how, Napa know how" over and over again, getting the jingle stuck in your head and their name stuck as well. It also uses the technique to appeal to "common man" in society by using two overweight, balding men in the commercial, showing that "anyone" could require the expertise of a Napa Auto Parts employee.

Electronic News

Half hour of News on Channel 2:

-Boys body found in Berklee(4 min)

-Stabbing suspect arrested (1 min)

-Fairfield shooting (45 sec)

-Richmond, 16 year old car-jacker killed (1 min)

-Homecoming for Soldiers (3 min)

-Crab Fishing Season low quantities (45 Seconds)

-Weather ( 1 minute)

Commercials

Mattress Discounter-15 seconds

Golden Gate Fields-30 Seconds

Mens Warehouse-15 sec

Car insurance-30 sec

Empire Carpet-30 sec

-H1N1 Vaccines + Problems (4 minutes)

-Girl discovers bones near home of convicted serial killer (3 minutes)

-New shuttle in SF (30 Seconds)

Commercials

10 O'clock news commercial (30 Seconds)

Citi Bank (30 seconds)

Lexus Commercial (1 minute)

Reno/Tahoe (1 minute)

AT&T Commercial (1 minute)

-Obama to China/Criticizes Iran (4 min)

-Afghanistan Firefight (2 min)

-Clinton Visits Israel (3 minutes)

The amount of time that was actually devoted to the news was around 20 minutes. They spent a little over a minute devoted to the weather and less then two minutes were spent with talking amongst the different anchors. The lead Story was about a little boy who's body was found iny Berklee. His mothers body had also been found that day. This story was chosen because of, among other things, the "if it bleeds it leads" notion. The news tends to lean toward using these stories because they deal with the lives of humans. The anchors seem to have a dull monotone voice during the sad stories, but whenever there is a story about something that may be sort of happy, they perk up a bit and crack a smile.

The Three Most Influential Books In My Life

One of the most influential books in my life is The Bible. I went to church from age 0 to 18 every Sunday. As an adult I picked up the bible and began to read it and realized that I could not possibly believe anything that was going on in it. I was forced into believing in God, but the bible made me realize that I didn't believe in any of it. http://www.amazon.com/Holy-Bible-King-James-Version/dp/1565633253/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255314498&sr=8-1

Another influential book in my life is "Total Impact" by Ronnie lott. This was a book written by former All-Pro safety Ronnie Lott. The book talks about how Ronnie overcame many hardships to make it to USC and the NFL. This book motivated me from a young age to be competitive and try to be a winner at everything I do. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Ronnie+Lott&x=0&y=0

A book that I read from a young age that stuck with me throughout the years is "Holes." This book taught me that bad things can happen to good people but if you work through it, you can make things better.
