The amount of time that was actually devoted to the news was around 20 minutes. They spent a little over a minute devoted to the weather and less then two minutes were spent with talking amongst the different anchors. The lead Story was about a little boy who's body was found iny Berklee. His mothers body had also been found that day. This story was chosen because of, among other things, the "if it bleeds it leads" notion. The news tends to lean toward using these stories because they deal with the lives of humans. The anchors seem to have a dull monotone voice during the sad stories, but whenever there is a story about something that may be sort of happy, they perk up a bit and crack a smile.
